Yoga is for Every BODY!

I asked Tracy, co-founder of Bristol Yoga Studio to briefly describe their goal and I really think that this sums it up:

“The mission of Bristol Yoga Studio is to bring more yoga to more people. We truly believe that yoga is for everyone so we offer a wide variety of classes to serve many people. Whether you can’t touch your toes or you can turn yourself into a pretzel, you’ll find a class to suit your style at BYS."

I’m a student of yoga so I can personally attest to finding the class that suits your personal style. The teachers at BYS come to yoga with different perspectives and abilities themselves, which brings a unique flavor to each class. And even if you are 'in shape' some days are going to be better than others! If I want to find peace and quiet (things that do NOT exist in my house), I go to Meditation. If I want to find strength and balance, I go to Yoga for Healthy Backs. When I want a good sweat (and a good laugh), I take myself to Hot Yoga. There is no question – YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE! (This is Syd mastering her Down Dog a few years back!)

Bristol Yoga Studio has generously donated a 5 class card valued at $75 to the ‘I Am So Thankful’ raffle and today’s winner is The Coelho Family! Thank you to Charlie and BYS for your support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!

Next Friday, there is a Yoga & Writing Workshop with Tracy Cooper Ramos and Hannah Goodman. It will be held from 7:30-9:00 pm and is $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Visit the website for more information or to complete your registration.

And if you are curious, but not committed, definitely check out the December 19th workshop with Barbara Gee called New to Yoga: Beginning the Journey. It will be held from 2:00-4:30 pm for $35.00. Mark your calendar, grab a friend and come on down – here’s what to expect:

"Are you always saying to yourself: I’d love to find out about yoga, but…., or, I want to do yoga, but…, or I feel awkward walking into a yoga studio..., then this is the workshop for you! In our workshop for those who are just starting to explore the world of yoga we cover the basics of yoga philosophy, yoga poses, breathing techniques, and meditation. We explain some common terms used in a yoga class, what to expect in a yoga class, and studio etiquette - all geared towards making you feel at home in a yoga studio. We also explain some of the many, and sometimes confusing, styles of yoga. We encourage questions. You will leave with a detailed handout, and recommendations for further learning."

YOU can be a yogi too... :)
