"Best LEGO Event of My Life" Says the 10 Year Old

I'm too tired from a weekend of activities to craft a clever title.  So, I went with the best quote from the boy who told me that he doesn't care where he is, or what he's doing -- the next time LEGO KidsFest comes to town, we HAVE to be there.

If you are even a slight LEGO enthusiast, you will enjoy this event.  If you are under the age of 12, even better.  Three acres of LEGO bricks, activities, models and more.  We were lucky enough to be part of the 'pre-event' with our VIK (very important kid) tickets and got to partake in a Master Builder Academy session, conducted by a father-son team.  With only about 115 Master Builders worldwide, this was very cool.

The kids got tips in interlocking, sideways building, and balance.  These tips would come in handy at the end of the night when we tried our hand at the bridge build.  Sadly, the kids' bridge broke with just ten pounds of weight but all previous records (50lb before this event, 70 by the last event) were completely shattered when the last team's bridge withstood 120 pounds of weight before collapsing at 125.  Math, science, engineering, architecture, and pure luck make you a master builder.  Stay in school kids!

I can't do this event justice - for that I need to video tape my kids, who haven't stopped talking about it since we left on Friday night.  They made memories they will treasure forever!  So, I will just share a million pics and tell you that the next time LEGO KidsFest comes to town, my kids will be first in line.  Bravo LEGO!

I received complimentary tickets to LEGO KidsFest in exchange for advance event promotion.  I was also able to give two tickets away on my blog.  My opinions, and those of my kids, are entirely our own...but if you know us, you already knew that.  ;)
