The World According to LEGO -- Grown Ups Welcome Too!

A few weeks ago, I told you all about my family's crazy obsession with everything LEGO.  If you missed it, you can read all about it here.  At the time, we hadn't yet experienced LEGOLAND.  But now that we have, all we can say is...

LEG-OH-MY-GOD!

The Florida location is only a few years old, joining five other locations worldwide.

If you live in New England and have ever been to Storyland, you will love LEGOLAND.  It's not overwhelming, it's got something for everyone and it's got a gazillion LEGO bricks!  On the ride to the park, we speculated that the rides were made of bricks, but rest assured that they are safe and fun and made of real ride type materials.  And yet, LEGO models are everywhere!  Check out this Ford crossover, constructed with 382,858 bricks!

Isn't that amazing?  You can actually see the time lapse video of the build here if you are so inclined.  We spent a lot of the day mouths open, pointing at the different exhibits and imagining that the BEST job ever must be working for LEGO.

If getting to Florida (or California) is a stretch, how about Connecticut?  Yes, Connecticut!  There won't be rides, but I guarantee that you will be so busy walking around with your mouth open pointing, that you won't even notice!

What am I babbling about?  LEGO KidsFest, of course!  This hands-on, educational, all-ages LEGO extravaganza features millions of LEGO bricks not to mention lots of construction zones, dozens of life-sized LEGO models and displays, LEGO Friends and LEGO Games, group builds such as Creation Nation, live LEGO Master Builders, and so much more covering three acres of space.

The LEGO KidsFest is a giant traveling LEGO expo coming to Hartford’s Connecticut  Convention Center December 6th – 8th, 2013.  Five identical sessions are available.  Tickets are $18 for kids and $20 for adults.
